VersaWrap®: simple ingredients, elegant solution.
Alafair introduced VersaWrap, a plant-based (non-tissue, non-collagenous) bioresorbable hydrogel implant in 2017. VersaWrap is the only class II medical device intended for tendon, ligament, skeletal muscle protection, as well as for wrapping peripheral nerve. VersaWrap functions as a gliding interface by reducing friction between opposing tissues, thereby preventing unwanted postoperative tethering.
VersaWrap is easy to use, ultrathin, non-constricting, and completely resorbs without remodeling. VersaWrap may be implanted as a sheet or a gel (via syringe), making application easy and flexible to meet the needs of a variety of procedures.

VersaWrap consists of natural polymers that bioresorb completely, leaving no trace behind
Bioresorption of VersaWrap is expected within 3-6 months of implantation, with biopolymer traces out to two years.
Bioresorption timing depends on device location and post-operative movement. Ongoing fluid turnover and physical motion increase resorption activity.
